The Difference in Service

Paradigm offers a full range of garment wet processing in Los Angeles, tailored specifically to your needs.

From garment dye to stone wash, our services encompass both traditional techniques and the latest emerging trends in the fashion industry. Here are some of the most popular processes we have been utilizing for our clients:

Hand Crafted Types

Hand Sanding

Hand sanding and whiskering:  hand sanding the surface of the denim to create a natural fading effect which give the appearance of aged denim.

Destroyed and Distressed

Destruction of the denim with holes, surface holes,(fill yarn is not destroyed), grinded edges such as the bottom hem, pocket openings, etc.

Brush and Spray

Distressed Brushing and Spray: More intensified surface abrasion appearance with using chemicals that further accentuates the faded effect.  This can be achieved with hand brushing or spraying.

Wash Types

Stone Wash

Process that physically removes the indigo/color to create contrast.  This is achieved by adding stones along with the garments in a washing machine and tumbled for a specified time depending on the level of abrasion desired.

Vintage Wash

This is achieved by adding a color reducing agent during the wash process to lighten the base color giving it a vintage effect.

Enzyme Wash

Enzyme chemical is added during the wash process to emulate the stonewash effect without degrading the fabric integrity.  This is considered more efficient and environmental friendly than stonewashing.  Enzyme is also used to de-pill cellulosic fabrics giving the fabric a smooth and flat surface.

Acid Wash

Process where stone or foam sponges dunked in potassium permanganate and put in the washing machine along with the garments giving a sharp contrast appearance.

Mineral Wash

Process where stone or foam sponges dunked in potassium permanganate and put in the washing machine along with the garments giving a sharp contrast appearance.

Dye Types

Reactive Dye

A dye that, under proper conditions, can react chemically with a substrate for forming a covalent dye-substrate linkage.  This is the most widely used dye.  The appearance is uniform and solid.

Direct Dye

A dye that is carried out by immersing the garment in a dye solution without any requirement of other chemicals for bonding the dye to the fibers.  This dye is usually used for the purpose of being able to discharge tonally such as in the mineral process.

Pigment Dye

A dye that is carried out by immersing the garment in a dye solution without any requirement of other chemicals for bonding the dye to the fibers.  This dye is usually used for the purpose of being able to discharge tonally such as in the mineral process.

Poly Dye

Disperse dye is used to dye polyester fabric at a high temperature with or without carrier.  Our equipment allows us to take the temperature up to 265 F ensuring the best fastness qualities.  Disperse dyes are the only water-insoluble dyes that dye polyester and acetate fibers.

In addition to all of these unique processes, Paradigm is consistently exploring new techniques to broaden our services portfolio. Our team is available to provide you with full details on the different services we provide – assuring that we are able to support all of your unique needs.
